Supervised Play Therapist


Yolandie MacDonald is a Supervised Play Therapist with a passion for helping children discover, understand and cope with difficult feelings, through Therapeutic Play Therapy.


Originally from South Africa, Yolandie completed her Bachelors with Honours degree in her home country, before going on to earn a PGCE in England. Yolandie has lived as an expat and raised her family in the UK, Middle East and Asia. As someone who has spent a decade fostering growth and learning in the classroom, she is inspired to bring her skills and compassion to therapy, though Play Therapy UK (PTUK)


Her experience as a primary school teacher has equipped her with a deep understanding of the diverse needs and trials individuals face in their personal and academic lives. Throughout her teaching career, she was fuelled by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of her students. Her genuine passion for helping others navigate challenges and unlock their full potential has been a driving force in her decision to transition into the field of therapy.


In her practice, Yolandie utilises tools from a variety of therapeutic techniques, creating a supportive and collaborative space for children to explore and navigate the complexities of their lives. Her goal is to empower children to discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and cultivate lasting positive change.
