Counselling is a talking therapy that focuses on increasing your psychological well-being. At the end of the process you will have a greater sense of self-awareness and be better equipped to cope with the future.

  • How Does Counselling Work?

A counsellor will listen and help guide you through a process to make sense of and resolve any issues you may have. The counsellor provides a non-judgemental safe space for you to express your emotions and support you through the process of personal growth and development.

  • Why Counselling Perspective?

At Counseling Perspective we utilise different types of therapies and tailor each session to the individual and their needs. We understand that the relationship between a client and a therapist is one of the most influential aspects of counselling, therefore we strive to build supportive and non-judgmental relationships.

We view health from a holistic standpoint, taking into consideration the mind and the body. We have recommended Natruopaths, Nutritionists and Health Coaches who we can work alongside to help clients.

  • What Can I Expect From My First Session?

We understand that a first session can be daunting, especially if you are new to counseling. We endeavor to make you feel comfortable and at ease during the first sessions as ask questions to understand what has brought you to counselling. We may discuss some of the events that have led to your decision to start counselling and identify how our services will best help you. You are welcome to ask us any questions you have during the sessions.

  • How Many Sessions Will I Need?

In an ideal world we would be able to resolve all your issues and problems within one session. However, this is not realistic as many issues have developed over a number of years, and therefore can take time to resolve. The number of sessions you need will vary based on many factors. Some people will attend weekly sessions for years, others may feel the benefits from as little as three or four sessions, and some people choose to attend biweekly sessions over a longer period of time. You and your counsellor can discuss an appropriate course based on your needs. Ultimately the structure will be your choice.
