Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Hui Wen is an empathetic and collaborative counsellor who believes in empowering clients to bring out their potential by addressing their internal struggles and unhelpful self-belief systems. She provides counselling to children, adolescents, young adults and adults who struggle with self-worth, loss of direction in life, relationship issues, domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, and self-inflicted injuries (with and without suicide ideation).

Often drawing on her training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, and other person-centered modalities, Hui Wen customizes her work according to her clients' unique self and needs. She believes that most clients often have the answers within themselves and what they really need is a safe space and an empathetic listener, a role Hui Wen takes pride in being.

Outside the counselling clinic, she is a martial arts instructor who holds a third degree black belt in Ninjutsu and second degree black belt in Taekwondo. Hui Wen believes that martial arts are great at teaching psychological flexibility, emotional awareness and provide a profound therapeutic doorway for those who are searching for ways to express themselves in movement.

Hui Wen is from Ipoh, a small coffee town in Malaysia. She speaks English, Malay, Indonesian, Cantonese, and Chinese.
