Nick Jonsson

Counsellor, Psychotherapist (in training) & Executive Coach

Nick works with adults who appear “high functioning” on the outside yet feel overwhelmed, isolated, burnt-out or stuck on the inside. His counselling is shaped by his own journey through burnout, addiction, and recovery, as well as more than two decades in senior leadership roles across Asia, Australia, and Europe. He has a particular heart for leaders, professionals, and their families who are carrying heavy responsibilities while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviours, or a loss of purpose.

Nick is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling at The School of Positive Psychology in Singapore, deepening his work in human healing beyond coaching alone. A Certified Master Coach (CMC/CCMC) and ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), he brings a strong grounding in evidence-based coaching and psychological principles to his clinical work. Nick is also a Certified Sober Coach and his practice is informed by humanistic and existential therapies, cognitive-behavioural and solution-focused approaches, and positive psychology, always tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each client.

In the therapy room, Nick offers a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can slow down, be honest, and feel fully heard. He works collaboratively to make sense of current difficulties while also exploring the deeper patterns, beliefs, and life events that sit beneath them. Alongside insight, Nick helps clients build practical tools for everyday life—such as emotional regulation skills, boundary-setting, healthy routines, and more authentic ways of relating at home and at work. His holistic lens integrates physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing, reflected in his 5 Steps to Holistic Leadership™ framework (Surrender, Purpose, Connection, Goals, Discipline).

Nick’s specialist interests include executive loneliness, burnout, anxiety, depression, addiction and relapse prevention, perfectionism, shame, life transitions, and relationship strain—especially in the context of demanding careers. He is the bestselling author of Executive Loneliness: The 5 Pathways to Overcoming Isolation, Stress, Anxiety & Depression in the Modern Business World, a #1 international bestseller that has helped open global conversations about mental health in leadership. In addition to his therapeutic and coaching work, and an active member of the 12-step recovery community. He has attended and supported more than 1,000 recovery meetings, giving him deep, lived insight into addiction, relapse prevention, and long-term recovery. He volunteers and fundraises for SOS Samaritans, contributes to suicide-prevention efforts in Singapore, and leads a men’s support group—creating safe spaces where people can share openly and heal without judgment.

Nick offers sessions online in English (and Swedish by arrangement) and works with adult individuals online and in person.
