Marissa Nasution

Counselor, Psychotherapist, Speaker

Marissa specialises in helping clients gain clarity around their emotions and inner worlds. Her work focuses on emotional regulation, complex emotions, and the development of emotional resilience, using a holistic, evidence-based approach that honours each client’s individuality. She supports individuals, parents, adolescents, couples, and corporate teams in navigating emotional challenges, building insight, and creating meaningful change. 


With a personal background rooted in both Indonesian and German cultures, Marissa brings a deep understanding of cultural and relational dynamics, which she integrates into her therapeutic and educational work.

Grounded in her academic training as a Research Psychologist, Marissa applies psychological theory and evidence-based methods to create lasting, practical change. Her professional approach is informed by her expertise in Emotional and Cultural Intelligence, Developmental Psychology, Organisational Psychology, and Conscious Parenting, using modalities such as CBT and EFT. Marissa is also a member of the British Psychological Society.



Before transitioning into psychology, Marissa spent over 15 years as a television presenter in the Indonesian entertainment industry. This experience refined her strengths in communication, public speaking, and relationship-building—skills she now brings into her work as a speaker and facilitator. Marissa creates impactful, engaging sessions that empower clients to thrive both personally and professionally.

Biography

Marissa is German-Indonesian and has lived in both countries before settling in Singapore, giving her a nuanced understanding of both Western and Eastern cultural perspectives. She thoughtfully integrates this cross-cultural awareness into her counselling approach. 


Before transitioning into psychology, Marissa spent over 15 years as a television presenter and speaker in the Indonesian entertainment industry, honing her skills in communication, public speaking, and relationship-building—skills that now enrich her work as a speaker and facilitator. 


As a speaker, she focuses on bringing the topic of emotional intelligence to organisations, individuals, and teams, helping them build more emotionally aware and connected environments. 


In her counselling practice, Marissa is passionate about helping clients understand how emotions shape their behaviours, thoughts, and inner experiences, fostering deeper self-awareness and meaningful growth.
